Sneaky crab, now in blue!

A photolog of the arcades I have visited. This is the second but by far most recent batch from my trip to Blackpool earlier this year. Enjoy! Images are free to use for personal projects – for commercial projects please contact me directly.

  • Smash TV, simply a classic piece of videogame (and piece of gaslighting)
  • The Origin of the Fantasy Zone / Super Hang-On shop theme. It’s the HOT-ROD shop theme. Great fun with 4 players, this cab.
  • A curious novelty in its time. Completely redundant in this time.
  • Gotta get some SF2 on! This is Hyper Fighting not Champ Edition though, silly marquee installers.
  • I’m starting to get the hang of the first 4 or 5 stages. How in the hell do you get to the top ones? I’d love to witness it.
  • Do not adjust your set, as I adjusted the colours.
  • Metal Slug, Strikers 1945 II, Samsho 1. Weird selection.
  • 720, a space game for aliens.
  • The pac row.
  • The silly three-dee Pac.
  • Galaga Plus. The Plus is you can take enemies to add as your weapon. Great concept, oft overlooked.
  • I always forget how short the arcade version is! Still didn’t 1cc it though.
  • I am an ok I guess warrior.
  • The theme tune of all time.
  • I don’t care what you think, Bomb Jack fucks.
  • Bluemb Jack.
  • The total MVP of UK arcades
  • Lovely art of these cabs.

  • Ah yes, the game where Michael Jackson saves children and turns into a robot. Of course.
  • The cool cousin of Outrun that doesn’t go to your school.
  • Enduro Racer. Enduro the awkward wheelies you need to pull off to land jumps.
  • The feeling of playing Enduro Racer.
  • The easiest rhythm game on the modern arcade market? Probably. My favourite? Absolutely.
  • It’s a UFO, it’s a Serrato, no! It’s Groove Coaster.
  • Stars are warring, positions are pole, the punch is out.
  • Rickety F1. Has its charms, still.
  • A classic smorgasbord.
  • Pumping up the Jam.
  • I must thank BBH again for showing me the way of Zoo Keeper. What a banger.
  • Amiga-lookin ass marquee
  • Occasionally makes you feel like you’re actually playing piano. At all other times it makes you feel like your hands don’t work. Big fan.
  • Museca is something I rarely even see IN JAPAN, so its omnipresence in Arcade Club venues is very funny.
  • The Double Pack of heaven. Joust and Robotron. America’s finest?
